The plot, setting and atmosphere all relate to each other. The plot of the story is dark, and dramatic – just like the setting and the atmosphere. Although the majority if the atmosphere is dark, a sense of unity and happiness is shown through the characters, especially the Think Tank, who at first were strangers and then gained trust and formed some sort of a family unit. This family atmosphere relates to the ending, where at the end of the story, this family unit is shown even more when all the children move in and live with Erik and Susan. The dark atmosphere relates to the setting, where all the children are put in an instate and evil scientists (Larsen), and the plot, because Larsen is keeping the children in the research facility.
