The foundation of Christian spirituality in medicine has two theories

The foundation of Christian spirituality in medicine has two theories. 1. A belief that science is a subset of knowledge and should be appreciated. 2. A belief that the worth of humans (as it reflects God’s intentions) should be treated with the knowledge of “respect for all persons”. I am a science-oriented person and have no religious or spiritual belief system, but I am in no way going to discount the beliefs of another individual. Nursing is unique in that its emphasis has always been on the person as a “whole.” It has been called both an art and science. (Shelly, J. A., ; Miller, A. B., 2006). Treating the whole person entails everything that makes them unique; spirituality, religion, faith as well as the medical disease.
