As we slouch towards the millennium, science fiction is rapidly becoming science reality. The creation of Dolly in Scotland marked not only an exciting moment in the history of genetics but a problematic one. As we move closer and closer to being able to genetically replicate not only sheep but humans, it is important to look at the big picture. This paper will look at what is involved in cloning, new techniques and their application to science, in addition to some of the potential ramifications of these experiments.
