This paper discusses Plato’s Theory of Forms through Thrasymachus’ view of the main problem of the Republic and Plato’s arguments for the immortality of the soul.

Central to many of Plato’s concepts is an understanding of his Theory of Forms. The theory of Forms posits a two-world ontology according to Solomon and Higgins. Within this dualistic world, Plato maintains there is a sensible world and an intelligible world. The sensible world is our everyday world of change and impermanence.
