The Concept of Managed Care Considered Within the Context of Weber’s Bureaucratic Model
Introduction
This research applies Weber’s Bureaucratic Model to the concept of managed care. The objective of this application is to assess the extent to which Weber’s Bureaucratic Model describes the functioning of managed care organizations.

The findings of this research are presented in three principal discussions. Weber’s Bureaucratic Model is reviewed in the first of these discussions, while the concept and development of managed care organizations in the United States are described in the second discussion. The third discussion applies Weber’s Bureaucratic Model to the managed care concept.
