A discussion of the contribution of author Katherine Paterson to multi-cultural children’s literature.
In this analysis, Paterson’s work will be viewed as representing a significant contribution to multi-cultural literature in that it requires us to examine our criteria for multi-cultural literature and to see that these criteria extend beyond representations of people of colour, to explore the depth and nature of the forces that connect and divide us as cultural beings.
