Effect of Current Worldwide Recession on Future Unemployment in the United States
This research examines the effect of the current world-wide recession on the future of unemployment in the United States. A disclaimer needs to be made prior to beginning this analysis. That disclaimer is that no world-wide recession exists in the Spring of 1999. The situation that actually prevails is that many economies around the world are in recession, but many are not in recession. Further, there are areas of regional recession within the global economy (International Monetary Fund, 1999). A notable case in point is East Asia.
