Buddhism is a religion based around eliminating desire by moderation

Buddhism is a religion based around eliminating desire by moderation, which originated from the religious figure Gautama Buddha (circa 500 BCE) in India. It eventually spread throughout the silk road trade routes into China (circa 300 CE). The responses to this massive overhaul of religion were quite varied, with a gradual increase in ratings as the years went on. Supporters wished they could combine traditional Chinese culture and traditions with their Buddhist values for a more unique Chinese culture, whilst oppositionists saw Buddhism as a threat to their culture and traditional laws. The Chinese people responded in various ways to the spread of Buddhism.
