Learning how to do the basics will help them when it comes to moving up a year. It sets the foundation.

-7905754439285At the moment Year 1 are doing addition. The Class room teacher plans her lessons by using the learning ladders.
Throughout the past half term I was working with all three classes which all had different skill sets when it came to maths. I attempted to obtain all of the children’s learning ladders progress. After a week and a bit I discovered that it is virtually impossible to remember over 22 different learning ladders let alone 62 different ones. In the end one of the teachers suggested to just obtain the information about the children I have 1 to 1’s with.
For example ‘E’, is working in the middle of the EYFS and year one. Because they have come from a German nursery they are finding it a bit more difficult. I have one to one lessons with ‘E’ so that they can gain confidence speaking the English language and adapt to how Attenborough teach.
