Rural Women in America

Examines the diversity of rural women in America in contexts of economic and health issues.

In this paper, it is suggested here that the diminished quality of life experienced by rural women impacts the American economy in a variety of ways, including a significant loss of economic productivity from families and individuals who live below the poverty line in rural communities. The deleterious effects of poor health, stress, lack of education and diminished labor resources suggests rural women live in a prolonged crisis state without access to health or education resources.
