Jennifer Granholm is Michigan’s Democratic attorney general. Recently, she has run for the office of Michigan’s Governor for the year 2002. Throughout her career in law and politics, Granholm has focused on providing citizens of her riding with full rights and freedoms while protecting them from injustices. Granholm’s key concerns are social issues and improving quality of life for those whose rights and freedoms may be jeopardized. She has been working to protect senior citizens against consumer frauds and scams. She has launched an investigation of major oil companies within her state, trying to determine whether the state’s high oil prices are an undue and unjust attempt to extract money form consumers. The issues she has repeatedly championed during her service have included white collar crime prevention, computer-related crime prevention, environment issues, consumer rights, child safety and senior citizen protection.
