T-shirts have become more than a casual slouchy piece of clothing that gets thrown on without care or consequence. Recently, T-shirts have become not only an essential part of the sportswear uniform but also a trendsetting and even fashionable expression. Designers now are leaning towards cleaner lines and minimal silhouettes, attempting to replicate current uniform designs precisely or experimenting with new alternative colors, materials, styles, and graphics. The T-shirt trends have become very diverse with quite the expanded range. One of the more popular trends is incorporating bright colors into T-shirts, black and white has become boring and highlights of red/orange/green/yellow make the merchandise pop. Old-School retro T-shirts showcasing a logo or name of a player who is a veteran from 10-20 years ago give the consumers “street cred” and show they are both a historian and timeless fan of their team. Polo style T-shirts can dress up the standard crew neck shirt and make you stand out from the others. Stripes with the team name and/or logo on the sleeve, front, or back are in style. Tailored fits have replaced the old loose fitting T-shirts, coined Training T-shirts these have new and innovative fabrics to wick moisture away from the skins to speed up evaporation and aid in keeping the wearer cool when training.
