n this experiment

n this experiment, the group explored one dimensional motion using a motion detector. Graphs of position versus time were evaluated and interpreted throughout this experiment. Members of the group had to try and make their own position versus time graphs to match given graphs. Then, the position versus time graphs were converted to velocity versus time graphs. The group could then see how position versus time related to velocity versus time. The purpose of this lab was to introduce students to some lab equipment such as motion detectors and computer programs which will be used later in the course. Another purpose was to reemphasize concepts learned in lecture about how velocity versus time and position versus time are related. Another purpose of this lab was to physically see how motion affects the position versus time graph. Through this lab, the group was able to learn about position versus time and velocity versus time in a real life setting and how they are related
